Claremore has not had a race for a long time. Luminary and Pennyplain have shown form at times, but Silver Wattle, who ran third to Dark Marble and Golden England at Matamata. looks better. Tonnerre beat Light Comedy at Pukekohe and should do so again to-morrow. Teak and Brilliant Acre may do best of the others. Three who appeal are TONNERRE, DU BAEKY and GAY' SHEIK. Both Mungatoon and Sinking Fund ran solid races in the Franklin Cup. Knight of Australia showed a return to form by running second 1 at Te Aroha. Mato mi must be hard to beat and with Chief Marionette looks to be the pick of the lightweights. Belting is likely to assume a wide range, but the pool may be headed by AGA KHAIs SOLARIUM MATOENI

Lucidus is a solid customer, while Scotland seldom runs a bad race. Star Artist showed a return to form at Pukekohe and must be hard to beat here. Coronis is a likely lightweight, while in the event of a soft track Gay Lap should come into favour. Sirona and Hampton Park are speedy. The favourites may be STAR ARTIST, GREEK GOLD and SCOTLAND. BEERESCOURT HACK HANDICAP. Of £l5O. Seven furlongs. Gay Rose won well at Te Aroha and has only twice been out of a place in her nine starts this season. Nun Niver was second’ to Tybalt on Monday, but over seven furlongs Scotch Nation is preferred. Lion Heart has a reputation as being a cut above the average, while Wahinc Reihi ran well at Tc Aroha., Solid support may come for GAY r ROSE, WAHINE NUI and SCOTCH NATION.
