Thai alpine clubs -would JiaJ.e to make application to erect liuts and to undertake other operations on Mount Egmont was decided at a meeting of the Egmont National (Park Board yesterday.' The matter came up for consideration Avhen it was reported that the North Egmont, Alpine Club proposed to erect a hut on Humphrey’s Castle. It was stated that the board was not unsympathetic, but there was a principle involved, and members wanted to be kept informed on the matter. Formal application was thereupon made for the erection of the hut by Mr F. Ainoore on behalf of the club, and! the necessary permission was granted. While on the question of alpiuc club activities Mr P. Thomson raised the point that the board should also have knowledge of the removal of scrub for the purpose of clearing ski-ing grounds.
