EVENTS AT NEW PLYMOUTH MRS A. E. STEVENS IN FINAL The finals ot the North Taranaki croquet tournament were contested on Saturday. Excellent weather prevailed. Mrs A. E. Stevens (Hawera) and Mrs W. Lowery (Wellington) were defeated by Mescjames Tingey ‘and Harvey in the doubles championship, the score being 26 to 11. Mesdames J. S. McKay (Manaia) and W. F, Buist (Hawera) won the handicap- doubles, defeating Mesdames W. Glenny and Putt (Patea). The winners of trophies were as follow: Women’s championship singles: Winner, Mrs D. C. Henderson (Wellington); runner-up, Mrs H. Langford (Palmerston North). Championship doubles: Winners, Mesdames Tingey (New Plymouth) and E. M. Harvey (New Plymouth); run-ners-up, Mesdames W. Lowery (Wellington) and A. E. Stevens (Hawera). Level singles (21-41): Winner, Mrs C. Ward (New Plymouth); runner-up, Mrs 'A. H. Coad (Inglewood). Level singles (5-7) : Winner, Mrs I. M. Cadwallader (Wellington); runnerup, Mrs J. Roberts (New Plymouth). Level singles (74-9)): Winner, Mrs M. Hay (New Plymouth); runner-up, Mrs M. E. Meuli (New Plymouth). Handicap singles (6 or less): Winner, Mrs L. A. Brown (New Plymouth); runner-up, Mrs A. H. Codd (Inglewood), Handicap singles (81 and over): Winner, Mrs Hobbs (New Plymouth); runner-up, Mrs J, Roberts (New Plymouth). Handicap doubles: Winners, Mesdames J. S. McKay (Manaia) and W, F.
