Settlement w 7 as reached in the Canterbury- drivers’ award before the Conciliation Council this morning, and a new award v ; ill represent a reduction of five per cent, on the old award, which operated two years ago, but an increase of five per cent, on the present rate. There has been no award in the industry "for two y-ears. Overtime will be at time and a-quarter.
