CROQUET PLAYERS’ VISIT

Lientenant-Colonel Du Pre, chairman of the English Croquet Council, arrived from Sydney to-day with two other members of the English team, Messrs H. It. Poulter and E. L. In England, many men play, and of the first hundred players, 80 are men. It is exclusively amateur, and is a player’s game.” The English team will play in the New Zealand championships beginning at Auckland next Thursday. The New Zealand team which competed in matches in Melbourne, also returned to-day.
