WIN FOR HAWERA SIDE LOSERS’ POOR SHOWING In a one innings match at King Edward Park, Hawera defeated Old Collegians by 97 runs to 61. With the exception of two good bowling performances—Mann (Old Collegians) five foils and A. Stevens' (Hawera) five for 23—there was little outstanding in the match. < Hawera’s principal contributor was Longstaff (25), who was later supported by McFadyen (24). Extras totalled 22, but the next highest score was 9 by Edwards. Mann’s five wickets were secured in eight overs. Cropp took three wickets for 16.
