MANAIA’S NARROW WIN
DEFEAT OF NOLANTOWN,
WEDNESDAY CRICKET MATCH.
In a cricket match with an exciting: finish at Manaia yesterday, the home team defeated Nolantown by 9(3 runs to 90. When the last man Ingram took the crease Manaia wfre level with tlm visitors’ score. Strenuous efforts to keep the runs down were unavailing and the Nolantown score was passed. Bain interfered with the play on several occasions. , The principal scorers in Nolantown s innings were Penny (26), Longstaff (16) and Kennedy’ (11). “Mr Extias accounted for no fewer than 25. Kitt, who bowled eight overs, four of which were maidens, was the best trundler and secured four wickets for six runs. Christie took two for -5. Christie (31) was Manaia’s topscorer, and he was well supported by Baldwin (21) and Barnes (13). Extras were 11. Kennedy took six for 23 and Penny two lor 20.
