Flight of Saar Refugees to France Continues
MANY FED BY SOLDIERS CALM BEFORE STORM? (United Press A.ssociation —Ey E»ctrio Telegraph Copyright). Received 3 p.jnb. to-day. SAARBRUCKTJN, Jan. 17. The flight of all classes of refugees to France is increasing daily, including many Jews. French frontier guard;* are turning back those not possessing French visas. Many poor, spending the night at border stations and Barracks, were fed by soldiers Several related acts of terrorism hj' Hitler supporters. Tlfc French; mines administration building at Sulzbaeh was invaded by 100 men, women and children, who were afraid to remain in their homes, fearing Nazi violence. German front leaders declared that they will not harm any one. Nevertheless, Communists and Socialists are convinced that the present calm is a prelude to a storm which will shortly burst over anti-Hitlerites. A Geneva message states that the League Council adopted the Saar agreement. Mr Anthony Eden and M. Litvinoff paid a tribute to Mr G.. Knox, the Saar Commissioner. M;. Lavfal said lie was convinced that Herr Hitler did not intend re prisals.
