The general inference is that a depression covering the greater part of New Zealand has intensified since last night and this morning is centred south of the Banks Peninsula. The forecast is for strong north-west winds backing temporarily to the south-west within the next 21 hours. The weather will he unsettled and squally, with rain probable, and some heavy falls. Seas are rough.
