YOUNG PEOPLE ENTERTAIN. FUND'S FOR CRICKET MATERIAL At the Kapuni hall on AVednesday evening the Young Peoples’ Social Club held its opening dance, m aid of the Kapuni Cricket Club. There was a large attendance and a good profit was made. Wills’ Melody Orchestra supplied the music and extras were played by Messrs E. Austin and Bert Eliason. Messrs Ben Berry and W. Williamson were Masters of Ceremony. The organisation of the dance was successfully carried out by the members of the committee, Messrs 13- Berry, I). Walker, J. S. Gamlin (junr.), (i. Revel! (chairman), D. Sainsbury, A Burke and AY. Williamson, and M isses M. Luscombe, Anna Steiner, D. Burton, Ethel Luscombe, C. Hackett, and E. Greanor (secretary).

PERSONAL NOTES. Mr. H. Eliason, Who suffered • three broken ribs in a fall from a ladder on to a wagon some days ago is making steady progress towards recovery. Misses M. and N. Wheeler are on holiday visit to Ohar.gai. Miss M. Wood and her brother, .'J>' Maurice Wood, arc touring the Soui.li Island. Mrs. Dan. Mitchell, of Manaia. is visiting her mother, Mrs. H. Eliason. Miss Marie Cave is on a holiday visit to New Plymouth. Miss Patty King, of Awatuna, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. If. P. Gibson. Miss Grace Williamson, who is in the Hawera Hospital, is making steady progress towards recovery.
