MARKED CALF FAIR
FOURTH ANNUAL OFFERING. Tlio fourth annual marked calf fair conducted by the South Taranaki Herd Testing Association will be held in Havera on Tuesday, February 19. In view of the increased demand for bulls which are certified as eligible to sire marked calves, the association is this year extending its service to both vendors and purchasers by including a section for bull calves which are eligible for such certification. All previous fail's have attracted buyers from all parts of the Dominion and keen competition has resulted in prices well above the ordinary ruling rates for the same class of unmarked stock. Indications at present show that the stock coming forward will be rather better than ever before and with buying orders already in hand, it would appear that realisations should be exceptionally good. The association will again prepare its attractive catalogue and vendors may rest assured that wide publicity by catalogue, press and otherwise will result in a good bench of buyers. The Challenge Cup competition, which has created keen competition for the purchase of the winning lots in the past, will again be a feature, and with several members keen on holding the handsome cup for the year, together with the retention of the miniature, it seems likely that the judges will have some excellent entries before them. The secretary of the association (Mr E. M. Bardsley) Will be pleased to supply further particulars and vendors are reminded that entries close to-morrow.
