ALL OUT FOR 304 RUNS DEFEAT OF POWER BOARD LOSERS MAKE ONLY 13. Power Board were trounced by Old Boys at King Edward, over 250 runs separating the teams when Old Boys last wicket fell. Power Board batted fiist and collapsed, the side only mustering 43 runs before the bowling ot Thiush, who emerged with the phenomenal average or eight for 11, Thrush took the hat-tricx. Only two Power Board players reached double figures —Geary (IS) and Bishop (10). Geary played confidently and included three fours in his total. Bishop hit one six. The remainder of the side collapsed completely, four failing to open their account. Thrush bowled an immaculate length, which Power Board found almost unplayable. Thirteen overs were sufficient to dismiss Power Board, of which Thrush bowled six. At one stage Power Board bad seven wickets down tor 21 runs.

VISIT TO TARURUTANGI HAWERA SIDE DEFEATED A team from Hawera visited Tarurutangi, near Wailara, yesterday and were defeated on the first innings. The visitors found the fast wicket difficult and were also troubled by the long grass in the outfield, which necessitated hitting the ball well into the air to score. Hawera batted first and were dismissed for 47, the only double-figure scorer being A. Stevens, who made 25. J. Sampson took five wickets for 12 and Spence Giddy four for 15. In their first innings Tarurutangi had lost six wickets for 102 when they declared. Of this total Spence Giddy, who was the only player to reach double figures, made 75 not out. Giddy hit three sixes. Guise took two wickets for four runs and Pritchard two for IS. Hawera had lost three wickets for 10 in a second innings when stump? were drawn. Pritchard made 24 and Gray 12 not out. The visitors' were entertained at dinner by the home team.
