AMAZING COINCIDENCE

An amazing coincidence occurred- in connection with the production of “The Return of Bulldog Drummond” at the 8.1. P. Studios at Elstree, England. Claud Allister had been selected for the part of “Algy,” the foppish “silly ass” friend of Drummond, the same role, by the way, that he previously played with such success and popularity in Ronald Column's “Bulldog Drummond’’ some time ago, Allister was driving his car leisure! y from London to Elstree a few days

Casually glancing, as he passed, Alister saw that the driver was injured, being cut about the moujjfch and obviously dazed. Stopping his c.tr, Allister rendered first aid, and revising the stranger, learned that he had skidded, and in doing so had knocked his face on the metal upright of the wind screen. The good samaritan was thanked and the men exchanged cards, before parting. . ;

Some days later at Elstree the chief actors were called together for the first shots in the film, and when Claud Allister and Ralph Richardson were introduced, each fumbled in his waistcoat pocket and produced a memento of their previous meeting in the shape of a visiting card. Ralph Richardson will be very popular with picture patrons, as the hugeframed. cheery, bluff Drummoncl. “The Returnv of Bulldog Drummond” will screen at the Opera House on Saturday and Monday.
