ELTHAM
PERSONAL AND GENERAL. The Eltham Brass Band held another very successful euchre tournament in the band room, York Street, on Thursday, there being a good gathering of players. The following were the prize winners: Ladies, Mrs Hodgkinson 1, Mrs F. Robinson 2; men, Mr O. Corbett 1, Mr W. Crozier 2. Miss K. Buller, of Dunedin, has taken up her duties on the. teaching staff of the school. Mrs Jones, sister of Mrs J. Ure Murray, of Eltham, is at present in a private hospital in Auckland.
The Eltham branch of the Stratford Old Pupils’ Association held a very successful dance in, the Legion rooms, Stanners Street, last evening, a large crowd was present, including visitors from Stratford, Mangatoki and Kaponga. The music was supplied by Mrs Attrill and extras were played by L. Ware. A dainty supper was served by the ladies’ committee.
