The number of insured persons, between the ages of 16 and 64 years, at work in Britain on June 25 last, was 10,163,000, or 410,000 more than a year previously. The total number described as unemployed on the same date was 2,092,586, classified as follows: Wholly unemployed, 1,563,432; temporarily unemployed, 447,320; normally in casual work, 81,834.
