OFFICIAL FORECAST. (For 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day.) The general inference is that pressure is still high to the north of New Zealand. A vigorous westerly depression is advancing across the south Tasman Sea, but so far has caused' much wind with little rain. The forecast is for strong west to north-west winds, reaching gale force in places. The weather will be mainly fair to fine and warm, but scattered showers are likely, chiefly on the ranges. Seas are . rough.
