BADMINTON AT HAWERA
LADIES’ CLUB TEAM WINS. SUCCESS - IN DOUBLES. Badminton match play was concluded at 'Hawera yesterday, when the ladies’ club defeated lady members of the Hawera club by 17 aces, the game score being 9 all. The ladies’ club side scored 208 aces fo 241, owing its success to a preponderance in tlie doubles matches, where four games’ to Hawera’s two were scored. Singles: Mrs Baigent beat Miss Buist, 15—7; Mrs Bayley lost to Miss M. Bright, 8 —15; (Mrs Yeale lost to Miss A. Kemp, 3—15; Mrs North lost to Miss N. Hotter, 3—15;. Mrs Besley beat Miss S. Lovell, 15 —5; Mrs Collins beat Mrs W. B. Farquliarson, 15—5; Mrs Caselberg lost to Miss Tonks, 11—15; Mrs Hamilton lost to Miss Hurrell, 18 —15; Mrs Leeee lost to Miss R. Pease, 16 —18; Miss M. Collins beat Miss J. Hunter, 15—9; Mrs McWilliam beat Miss M. Black, 15 —6; Mrs Swinburn lost to Miss Black, 15 —17.
