TO VISIT PACIFIC ISLANDS

DIRECTOR GENERAL OF HEALTH. CFy Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. The Director-General of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, left Wellington for Auckland this afternoon to connect with the Niagara to-morrow. In company with Dr. S'. iM. Lambert, of the Rockefeller Foundation, Dr. Watt will proceed to Fiji and after a short stay there will continue .to Pago Pago, Eastern Samoa, going thence to Western Samoa.

Advice lias been received by the External Affairs Department that no extra assistance is needed to cope with the influenza epidemic. There are one doctor and several native assistants in Western Samoa and another doctor who is on leave in New Zealand will return shortly. In addition tnere are nine white nurses and about 30 assistants.

Dr. Watt will b'e away from the Do minion for about six weeks.
