DOMINIONS IN GOOD DEMAND. GENERAL TONE SATISFACTORY. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegrapu Copyright.? LONDON, Sept. Id. With the holiday season near its close the Stock Exchange is beginning to show more activity, and the general tone is .satisfactory. The giltedged market i 6 steady, with the Dominions’ stocks in good demand. The new Nigerian conversion loan had a good reception. The Argentine conversion of a number of 5 per cent, stocks amounting to nearly £10,000,000 into 4” per cent, sterling bonds at 931 was also well received. This issue i s interesting from, the fact that Argntina’s credit is so good that the Government lias been able to dispense with the underwriting of a large portion of the issue, only about £4,500,000 being underwritten.
