DOMAIN BOARD MEETING. (From O'ur Own Correspondent). The monthly meeting of the Patea Domain Board was held, in the Bor- j ough Council chambers on Friday. Those present were Messrs. E. F. Hemingway (chairman), M. Pairweather (secretary), F. Ramsbottom, E. Rapps and T. E. Roberts. An apology for non-attendance was received from Mr L. W. Austin. The croquet club wrote asking the board if it would supply hinges for the club's gate and also whether the guttering round the green could be cleaned. It was decided to grant this request. The chairman reported that the domain was in first-class order, the flower beds were looking particularly well. He had accepted a quantity of flowering shrubs from Mr Benefield for the domain. Unemployed relief workers had planted 600 trees and the Seaside Improvement Society 200. The chairman said he had been approached by members of the various sports associations and asked to reconsider his resignation as chairman. This lie had agreed to do. Accounts were read and passed for payment. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. CROUP COMMITTE MEETING. The first group committee meeting of the Women’s Institutes was held in the Borough Council chambers, Patea, on Wednesday. Those present were: Mesdames W. H. Walton and R. S. Crawford (Patea), S. ,G. Davidson asd B. Hilliar (Opaku) and F. Ramsbottom (Kakaramea), Apologies for non-attendance were received from Mrs A. A. Carey (Patea) and Mrs L. Morris (Kakaramea). On the motion of Mrs Crawford, seconded by Mrs Hilliar, it was decided to hold a group garden party in Patea in the second week in February in aidj of the Taranaki rest cottage. | It was decided that the matter of providing a women’s rest room at Pa-| tea- .should be placed before each insti- j tute in the group, each institute toi report its decision to the convener, Mis W.
