NORMANBY SCHOOL
FAREWELL TO' TEACHER. At the Norinanby school on Thursday Miss P. J. Gannaway, who is retiring from tlie service, was farewelled by children, staff and parents. . Mesdames Gano and Evans and Mr A. Galloway represented the School Committee.
Lorna Kennedy presented Miss- Gannawav with a Victorian posy, and on behalf of the class, expressed regret Concerning her departure and good wishes for her future. Speaking for the staff and children, Mr T. Taylor (headmaster) referred to the good qualities Miss Gannaway possessed as a. teacher and of her faithful service during the three years she had been at the school and wished her every happiness in the future. Mr A. Galloway (chairman of the School Committee), in making a suitable presentation, expressed the appreciation of the parents and School Committee and: on their behalf added his felicitations. Miss Gannaway suitably responded and was given three rousing cheers by the assembled children.
