What promises to be "a very rich, field has recently been located by a party o 5 unemployed’ niiners at Long Valley, 21 miles-distant from Alexandra. The locality" is in a very' isolated part of the country, in the direction of Poolburn. 'So far two reefs have been located, and particularly' *• encouraging returns have been obtained. Members of the party aje so sanguine of 'success that they have taken sufficient supplies with them into the back country to last for about three months, and intend to prospect the area very thoroughly during the winter.
