ALUMINIUM FOR JAPAN
CONTRACT FOR RAAV MATERIAL. ' INDEPENDENCE OF AMERICA. (United -Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright) THE HAGUE, May 2. • It is reported that a Japanese aluminium company operating in Formosa has agreed to take nearly 24.000 tons of bauxite yearly, yielding 6000 tons of aluminium, from the Dutch Nibam Company working -deposits on the island of Bintang, near Singapore. This- will enable Japan to be largely independent of America in the preparation of aluminium for aeroplanes.
