The order was the same to the second hurdle, where Tea Garden hit solidly, losing the rider. Count Lendroff led past the stands from Chief Line, Lebanon, Don Erma, Consent, Pahu, High Falutin, with Richfield last. Don Erma took the lead going down the back with Chief Line, Count Lendroff, Consent, Pahu and Esteem handy. Consent made a run, but was done when the turn was reached and Count Lendroff ran up to Don Erma again, the pair being followed into the straight by Pahu, Consent, and High Falutin’. In a good finish Pahu ran, on to win by half a length from Don Erma, with Esteem two lengths further back. Count Lendroff was fourth.

Headmistress was first to show out from the barrier, followed by St. Clara and Royal Dash. Clembroney ran to the front going out oi the straight from Headmistress, Royal Dash, Gay Court, St. Clara and Ties Sec. Headmistress again took charge going down the back, witji Clembroney, Royal Dash, St. Clara, Gff-y Court, Tres Sec and Bugle Call next. Headmistress continued to lead across the top, when Oriel moved up smartly, .and into the straight the order was Headmistress, Oriel, St. Clara, Bugle Call and Tres Sec. In a rattling finish Headmistress staved off Tres Sec’s challenge by a neck. Oriel was a head further back and Gay Court a close fourth. Then came Bugle Call, St. Clara and Royal Dash.

The scratchings of Royal Reign ana Sir Musk left a field of four. Brown Abbey fenced much better than yesterday, and the issue was never in doubt. Brown Abbey immediately , took the lead from Manuiri. Bon Aryan and St. Ames, and at the sod wall was five lengths clear of Bon Aryan, with a length to Manuiri, and St. Ames tailing the field. Passing the stands Brown Abbey was ten lengths in front of Manuiri and Bon Aryan together, with another ten lengths to St. Ames. Manuiri moved up gong down the back to reduce Brown Abbey’s lead to a length. .Bon Aryan was six lengths back and St. Ames another 15 lengths. Jumping cleanly, Brown Abbey again opened a break on the rest, and going over the sod wall was live lengths clear of manuiri, with a similar distance to Bon Aryan. At the hencoop Brown Abbey was a clear six lengths in front of Manuiri, who had a. break of eight lengths on Bon Aryan. Manuiri made a great final sprint to get within half a length of Brown Abbey at the post, with fifty yards to Bon Aryan, and another seventy yards to St. Ames. Uullus got the best of the start and lead out from The Tiger, Royal Bengal, Orapai and British Columbia. The Tiger went to the front at the end of a furlong and established a lead of a length on British Columbia, with Royal Bengal, (Julius and Orapai. The Tiger continued to lead across the top bv two lengths from British Columbia and another length to Cullus, Royal Bengal and Orapai, the latter commencing to move up. The Tiger- turned into the straight clear of British Columbia. Royal Bengal and Orapai, but faded half way down the straight. Royal Bengal finished well to beat Orapai bv a neck, with British Columbia a head further back.
