N.Z. “VET.” DETAINED
FRACTfSING IN N.S.W. ALLEGED BREACH OF REGULATIONS. May. 2. , On the eve of his return to New Zealand, after having operated om the raoehorses Keep Respect and Koda Rep, to cure them of “roaring,” Or. W. C. Ring was subpoenaed to attend the Central Summons Court today. The information contained in the subpoena deals with that section: of the regulations reqttinng a person to IWregistered by the Veterinary Surgeons’ Beard of New South Wales before practising in this State. Dr. Ring was fined 60s, with costs. His' solicitor asked that no conviction he recorded under a special section of the Act. He said the operations were performed solely owing to a lifelong friendship between Dr. Ring and J. T. Jamieson. Similar operations had been performed in New Zealand with successful results. _ The magistrate declined to release the defendant, saying he knew the law and accepted a fee for the operations.
