SERVICES TO GUIDING. APPRECIATION BY COMPANY. (Front Cur Qwn Correspondent..) At the residence of Mrs Nicholls, president of the Otakeho Cirl Guides’ Association, on Saturday, Guides and a number of committee members assembled to bid farewell to the captain, Miss Linda Putt, who is shortly to ibo married. Mrs Houston, Divisional Commissioner, and Airs Watt, District Commissioner, were present. Airs Nicholls welcomed the guests and expressed regret at Miss Putt’s departure and wished her every happiness. Atiss Mackie, lieutenant of the company, presented Miss Putt with a. small token from the company and a bouquet in the. company colours. Airs Houston and Airs Watt also expressed their regret at Aliss Putt’s departure, and thanked Aliss Putt for the work she had done for guiding in Gtakeho, it being largely due to her endeavours that the company was formed. The Commissioners also welcomed Miss Mackie as acting-leader to the company. Competitions were won by the following : Telegram, Airs Watt; river and town competition, Aliss Mackie*. The decorations, which had been arranged by Aliss Helen Nicholls, were most effective. They were carried out in blue and gold streamers and gold flowers. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostess and members of the committee. Two members of the committee who wore absent from the ceremony a few weeks ago were enrolled by Airs Houston.
