FINAL AT FORMRY. LUNT DEFEATS CRAWLEY. (Halted Pr<*w Association —By Electric Teiegrapi Uopvrtsrhi.i LONDON, April 28. Lunt defeated' Crawley in the final of the Formiby golf tournament, the match going to the 3:7th green. Lunt, who is a -Birmingham business man, had previously played in some ehatnlpionships, but badl never before reached a final victory, which was due to his dramatis recovery. .Crawley was four up at the Undl of the first nine holes. Lunt was obviously nervous and fluffed a number of simple shots. Crawley was six up at thie end of the first round in 76 to 81. 'After Jun'ch the whole outlook changed, Lunt winning four of the 1 first nine holes in 4,4, 4,4, 2. Crawley, now shaken, -began to find the bunkers troublesome, but held a three hole lead to the turn. The .game swung round at the 30th. Lunt drew square at the 35th aud the next was halved. A huge gallery was most excited as they tackled the 37th. Crawley lost through a pulled second, Lunt having a perfect four.

STRATFORD BEAT HAWERA MARGIN OF FIVE MATCHES The Hawera Men’s Golf Club sent a team to 'Stratford at the week-end and in an all-day match the visitors suffered defeat by ten to five.
