Ohisman, organiser of the Empire Art Loan Collection Society, who arrived by the Rnngitatawith 250 pictures. "~Mv Chisman said that among the many famous artists, represented were D. Y. Cameron, Fry. Grant, Holmes, Augustus John. AfoEVoy, Orpen, Sargent, Pisisamo, Eickert, Whistler, Wilson and Steer. The sending of the collection was the outcome of the. efforts of All- P. R. Sargood. of Dunedin, and 70 years of contemporary British art- was represented. Several pictures were insured for over IfclOOO each, and the total insurance was ,-£30,000. The first exhihi. tion would be held at Dunedin. The pictures then go to Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. There is a possibility that AVellington will he included in the list.
