VISIT OF, AUCKLAND TEAM TARANAKI ITINERARY APPROVED On Sunday next a team of bowlers representing the Auckland Centre will arrive in New Plymouth preparatory to their tour of the Taranaki province, which commences the following day. At a meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Bowling Centre held yesterday the following itinerary was approved: Monday.—Morning, at New Plymouth Club’s green (two New Plymouth and two Vogeltown teams); afternoon, at Fitaroy Club (two Fitzroy teams and two Waitnra. teams). Tuesday. at Pari tutu (two Parifutu, teams and two Fire. Brigade teauis); afternoon, at West End -.Club (two West End teams' and two Jngle-i fvood teams). Wednesday.—Morn ing, at Avon, green (one Taranaki team, one Stratford team and two Avon teams); afternoon, at Avon green (two Avon teams and two Stratford teams). Stay at Stratford. Thursday.—Morning, at Eltham green (one Kapongia, team and three Eltham teams); afternoon, at Manaia green (one Aiiiroa team and three Manaia teams). Go on to Gpunake. Friday.—Morning, at Opunake green (one Pihaana team, one Raliotu team, one Warea team, one Okato team); afternoon, four Opunake teams. Return to New Plymouth. Saturday.—Morning, visitors entertained iby New Plymouth bowlers; afternoon, at West End green (two Taranaki executive teams, one Ureiiui team and one Awakino team). Stay at New Plymouth and return to Auckland on Sunday morning.
ELTHAM CLUB; CLOSE OF 1933-34 SEASON At the Eltham green yesterday the official closing of the chib’s 1933-34 season was well attended and 1 the trophies won. during the season were presented. The championship cup went to C. B. Rowe, the president’s trophy to J. Harrison, Mir A. O. Casey’s trophy to A. W. Jackson, and the colt’s trophy to J. Streeter.
The winning team in the day’s competition was Campbell, Nicholls, Bluett and Blown. The runners-up were Franks, Peacock, Smith and Mumby. The president (Mr A. R. Gower) referred to the successful season, in which players had shown a keen interest in the game and announced that the green would be open for play for a little longer. PARK CLUB CLOSING DAY RESULTS Results of matches played at the Parle Club’s dosing day in Hawera on Wednesday were iais folhjjy : Higgs, Trigger, Williamson, Corkill 33 beat Herbert, Burgess, Glengarry, Chadwick 11. Baker, Marter, Badland, Hotter 13 lost to Wills, Spink, Walsh, Hicks 27. Cropp, Davis, Gooddhap, Keys 14 lost Saunders, Sheehan, Spratt, Quin 33.
