HAWERA TRACK WORK (By “Limited.”) Ideal conditions prevailed for training operations at the Hawera racecourse yesterday. The plough track was used for all important work and was in good order. Caretaker Morse is busy reconditioning the brush fences for the coining steeplechase meeting and they will be ready any time now.

Aga Khan was given plentv -of trotting exercise and Diagano did slow pace work. Gibraltar (Shields) went at half pace to the half-mile, where he was picked up by Sandlark (Feasey), the pair running homo in 51) sec. with Sandlark in front.

Round Table (Coyle) again finishrhalf a length in front of Royal Peak (Grylls) over half a mile, covered in 51 3-5 see. R.uri and Silk Sox were allotted steady half-pace work. oriel (Conway), after pacing a round., strode over the last six furlongs' of his second lap comfortably in 1.244. Davistoek was never a strong constitutioned horse, requiring special care in his preparation. Cox, however, won three races with Davistoek as a three-year-old. Davistoek was also placed ten times.
