Latham, Australian Minister of Industries, in a statement at the conclusion of his Java tour saici the time he had spent had completely confirmed the ideas actuating the Commonwealth Government in despatched the mission, which made many contacts that would facilitate future intercourse between the two countries. “After rapid, colourful visits to inland districts,” he said, “we left with full gratitude of the kindness and hospitality of our hosts, who also expressed great appreciation of the actum of the Australian Government in sending the mission. After meeting manv business men in Java I am satisfied ‘that a suitable trade representative here would be a great advantage to Australia.”
