RULING FOR HENRY FORD. BUSINESS WITH THE STATE. United Press Association —Bv Electnc Telegraph Copyright). WASHINGTON, April 7. The Controller-General, Mr MeCarl, issued an important ruling to-day which makes compliance with the National Recovery Act by Mr Henry Fore ii.d his distributors’ compulsory if he wishes to bid for Government contracts.
Heretofore, according to the loose ;n. terpretation of the' law, the Government must prove Mr Fk>rd was violating the law to bar him from contracts 1 . Now those wishing to do business wall the Government must supply certificates of compliance with the code regulations.
The ruling opens the entire controversy between. Mr Ford and Administrator "Johnson, with the way now apparently open for the latter to force Mr Ford in the N.Tt.A. or he will lose much of his business.
