THREE SATURDAY GAMES THE REST DEFEAT OLD BOYS. DISPUTE; IN B GEiADE. TEAM. LEAVES THE FIELD. Plav in the South Taranaki B grade competition ivas continued on Saturday. One match, that -between Powei Board and Opunake, upon which much rested in the competition, had an unfortunate ending. The Opunake players walked off the field, although the umpire had ruled that mother over was to be played and when the Boaid needed four runs for a win. _ Ih© result was that a protest, it is understood, will bo entered and will he decided bv the executive. The play in the friendly match between Old Boys and “The Rest” of the A teams was very disappointing, and in a low scoring match “The Rest” won by 27 runs. The latter batted first and .scoring was extraordinarily slow, two hours being taken to get 45. Play then brightened a little and So was on the board when the last wicket fell. V. Betts (221 and R. Eden (26) getting the bulk of the runs. Pritchard howled remarkably well, keeping a fine length.

Old Boys made a procession after Moloney (11) and H. Barker (15) were dismissed and scored only 58. Of these 18 wore extras. Details of scores are: “THE REST.”

But Whitehead and O’Dea were associated in a valuable partnership that yielded nearly 100 runs, both playing good cricket.
