MODERNISATION OF DEFENCES

LONDON, March 8. The British Army estimates total £39,600,000, compared with £37,950,000 in 1933, hut the total is £330,000 below that of 1931. This year’s additional funds will he -devoted, to modernisation of coast and other defences. and the continuation of the programme of reorganisation and building iip suitable reserves of stores and the improvement of barracks.
