DOUGLAS CREDIT PLAN
PETITION TO PARLIAMENT The interest take in certain country districts in the Douglas social credit scheme is indicated in a- petition presented to tile New Zealand Parliament on Tuesday by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. ID. Macmillan. The petition is signed by W. G. Banyan, of Manawake, and 30 other residents of the Tauranga district. The petitioners refer to the suffering ,-jncl distress of the present- time as due to the fact that the buying power or currency is restricted by private institution. ‘ They ask that a credit board be .set un to ascertain the shortage of buying power and to enable the principles' of the Douglas . credit scheme to- he put intb operation in NeW.
