Sir Philip Crinliffe-Dister has received a telegram informing him that Sir Graeme Thomson, Governor of Ceylon, who was on his way to England, died at Aden on Thursday.. The King ha-s----sent a message of sympathy to Lady Thomson iri his own and the Queen’s name. - . u.
Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, in a message of condolence, says Lady Thomson’s bereavement is shared by Hie Majesty’s Government and tbe country which has lost a tried and experienced public servant. . . The news wits received witli universal regret in Ceylon. -During the Great War, Sir Graeme Thomson, as Director of Transports, displayed remarkable powers of organisation which, were invaluable to the British Forces. In 1917 he was appointed to the additional post of Director of Shipping. Befoi-'e being appointed as Governor of Ceylon in 1931, Sir Graeme Thomson served as Governor of Nigeria and British Guiana. He was 58 years old.
