SCHOOL PUPILS ENTERTAIN. I ATTRACTIVE CONCERT ITEMS ,| (From Our Own Correspondent). | A concert promoted solely bv the 1 school children was held in the hall j last week and a large gathering of I parents and friends assembled. Gladys I Kirk thanked all who had come to ■ make the concert a success. The programme was as follows: Song, HoeRae; recitation, “Young and Old,” A. 1 R-ae; pianoforte solo, G. H ; Smith; recitation, “When Pa ie Sick,” A. Chisnall; song, “Vesby,” L. Lunsden and E. Pennington; pianoforte solo, G. > Kirk ; recitation, M. Pennington ; song, '“The Ash Grove,” D. Barnard; recitation, “Fairies Chimney.” R. Ivirk; dance, IC. Pennington; whistling, “Jolly Good Company],N. -Crosby and Rex Woodley; recitation, “Travel,” A. Ivirk; dance, Mary Rose and H. Smith; recitations, Gordon Barnard, Marion Addenbrooke, Jocelyn Addenbrooke. Afternoon tea was served and Geoffrey Smith thanked all who had lielp- ' cd. . 1 The first of its kind organised by ! the children, the concert proved most 1 • attractive and the hope was expressed , freely that further such gatherings ' would be arranged.
GENERAL AND PERSONAL.
Milking is now in full swing and the returns this year are far above this time last year. A very heavy frost experienced here on Tuesday night was damaging for the early potatoes. Mr ancl Mrs Chisnall are leaving to take up their residence in Rawhitiroa. In the Mangamingi Golf Club’s championship matches \V. Knucke.y beat S. Strett'en; G. H. Brown beatP. R. Brown. E. Woodley heat A. Simpson and Wallace !3oddio beat H. Lodge.
