ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE
SENSATION AT ONEHUNGA. MAN AND WOMAN STABBED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 28. Helge Vigo Sorenson, aged 46, a seaman, was charged in the Police Court to-day with attempting to murder'Louisa Annie Thompson and with assaulting Roy Johnston so as to cause actual bodily harm. Both events are alleged to have occurred at Onekunga on the evening of Saturday, September 2. Evidence was given that following a party to which Sorenson, a stranger, was invited, and at which a large quantity of liquor was consumed, a man and a woman were stabbed, apparently with a knife. No evidence was given that Sorenson had a. knife and two witnesses disagreed with Mrs Thompson’s statement that a scuffle occurred before she was injured. Sorenson nleaded not guilty and was committed for trial.
