DUNEDIN, Sent. 28. “If the Government will riot wake up and do the right thing about car conversions motorists will have to take the law into their own hands, even if the.y are imprisoned for it.” said Mr. F. W. Johnson, president of the South Island Motor Union, at the annual meeting of the Otago Motor Club. Personally lie was prepared to do this and inflict his own punishment if the need arose He was convinced that conversion, or car stealing, should be an indictable offence. _ Another speaker said the Government by its light penalties was breeding a race of young criminals.
