ANNUAL MEETING HELD. \ REVIEW OF SEASON’S ‘ ACTIVITIES. t The annual meeting of members of j the Eltliam Lawn Tennis Club was j held in Eltliam on Monday evening ( -when Dr. S. W. .Crawford (president) , occupied the chair and there was a ] fair attendance. - In reviewing the past season Dr. ( Crawford expressed the committee’s 1 1 regret at the departure of Miss P. j Wood, who was a most enthusiastic > and valuable member. The club’s « thanks’ were due to her as ball secretary, also to Miss Ritter and Mrs ] Valintine. The club hoped to do well : in the competitions this year, a pleasing feature being the play of the young members. Bruce Jones, in particular, showed great promise and re- , presented Taranaki at Auckland in the , hard courts championship. The club ■ games had been well contested and flic winners were to be congratulated. The 1 clubs thanks were due to all who as- < sisted in shifting the courts. The election of officers resulted: President, Dr. S. W. Crawford; vicepresidents, Mr H. A. Wood and Mrs G. D MacGregor; committee, Messrs A. L. Pickard, W. O. Hill, N. Phillips, I. Wylds, S. Morrison, G. Gordon and R. Lee; secretary, Mr J. Stewart; ladies’ committee, Mesdames R. Lee, J. P. j Valintine and D. Knuckey, Misses 11. ! Wilson, L. Ritter, R. Townsend and jw. Weir; auditor, Mr R. Lee; delegate ito the association, Mr A. Pickard; | match committee, the president, - see--1 rotary and Mr Leo; ladder stew aids, !Mr t. Wylds (men), Miss B. Walker (ladies). Mr Hill, who has been secretary for the past four years, declined to acceptl .nomination for a further period, and lie was accorded a hearty vote ot thanks for his services. New members elected were Mosdames Adams and Hart, Misses Carter and Howe, Messrs 11. Dale, Carter, H. E. Nicliolls, Roberts, Hart and Murray.
