MOUNT EDEN TRAGEDY

Fatal injuries were received % a retired farmer, Allan John Ro&s, aged! 64 as the result of a fall from an overhead bridge at Mount Eden early this morning. Ross, who was single, was sitting on the bridge rail when he lost his balance, falling, heavily to a lawn near the railway line. At the inquest to-day Sylvia Bradcock. aged 11, said she was standing outside her home when .she saw a man sitting on the rail of the bridge facing the road. He was rolling a cigarette when his hat blew backward. The man turned around in an attempt to catch the hat, overbalanced and fell off the rail to the section below. The inquest was adjourned.
