SPEED BOAT IN FLAMES

Making her first appearance since her return from America, the speed boat Miss Britain 111 caught fire at Poole Harbour while attempting; to break Sir Henry Segrave’s record, the mishap occurred in the presence of thousands of spectators. While the boat was. traversing the course at bu miles an hour the engine burst into flames. Scott Paine and his mechanic fought the fire with an extinguisher and dozens of motor 'boats rushed to their aid. The flames, were subdued but the engine rear portion was burned out. The hull was saved intact.
