DETENTION FOR FIVE YEARS
DISHONESTY OF DIRECTOR-. COMMERCIAL FRAUD CHARGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND. Aug. 7. “This is one of the most- important cases of commercial fraud it lias boon my unpleasant duty to try and this class of case is becoming almost as common as housebreaking,” said Mr ■Justice Herdman to-day in sentencing •James Milward Houston, aged 44, company director, to five years’ reformative detention. Houston was found guilty by a jury after a trial lasting for five days on charges of fraudulently .failing to account for moneys stated to total between £SOOO and £6OOO.
