WESTERN DIVISION TOURNEY WON BY PIHAMA RINK Play in the Lambie Memorial (Shield bowling (pairs) tournament was continued on the Pihama, Rahotu and Opunake greens on Thursday. On Friday the finals were played at Opunake, F. Julian’s rink (Pihama) winning the competition for 1933. Results of matches played on Thursday were as follow: — -SECTION A. Third round. —P. The Sinclair-Edwards match was the only one completed in the fifth round of Section D, but Sinclair winning the round made no difference to the other matches unfinished. SECTION TIES. On Saturday at Opunake the West-! cm Division “clubs’ singles champions met to play the divisional final. Wilson (Opunake) was successful in winning the title, defeating Riley (Pihama) in the final after 3L heads had been played. . Results of play were as follow: — First round. —Riley (Pihama) 21 v. Williams (Kaponga) 29; Wilson (Opunake) 21 v. Inder (Rahotu) 9; Brooke (Warea), a bve. Second round. —Williams 19 v. Inder 21; Riley 21 v. Brooke 3; Wilson, a bve.

Third round.—Wilson 21 v. Riley lllj Brooke J 4 v. Inder 21.

Fourth round. —Wilson 21 v. Inder S; Riley, a bye. Final. —Wilson 21 v. Riley 20.

SHIELD MATCHES. WESTERN DIVISION FINAL. The final of the shield bowling matches for the present season took place at the Kaponga green on Saturday between Kaponga A and Auroa, anil resulted in a win for the visitors by 04 points to 42. Thus Auroa takes the honours of the western division for the season. The results were as follow, the names of the Auroa players being mentioned first:— ' O. Webby, C. Cave, D. -Ross, T. The final of the Kaponga singles championship was won by R. E. Williams after playing-off seven heads with J. TI. Ty.ne.k. Williams subsequently competed in the champion, of champions tourney at Opunake on Saturdav but- was unsuccessful.
