SWIMMING CARNIVAL
ATTRACTI VE HAWERA PROGRAMME. INTER-PROVINCIAL POLO TEAMS Spectacular polo should be witnessed at the Hawera municipal baths tomorrow evening, when the Taranaki representative polo team will meet a representative team from Wanganui in a special challenge match. The Taranaki team is the same as represented the province at the New Zealand championships at Napier, while the Wanganui team is also an outstanding combination. Other events include a 100 yards scratch invitation race, in which 'Taranaki’s four premier swimmers—St. George, Blyth, Haugliton and Jobson — will compete against Wanganui swimmers. A 200 yards inter-provincial relay (eight men a-side), 50 yards men’s handicap, and exhibition of diving by the three Taranaki champions—-Miss P. Murray, J. Oliver and Master D. ivleGlashan. The undefeated Hawera ladies’ polo team will also meet the New Plymouth ladies’ team. The programme is one of the most comprehensive ancl , attractive yet presented by the Hawera club and strong public support is anticipated. The Taranaki polo team will be: W. J Toomey (Fitzroy), C.
