OFFICIAL FORECAST.
(For 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day.) The. general inference is that an irregular depression, which has caused very heavy rains in .Nelson and the western half o-f the South Island, has been moving very slowly across the Dominion. The pressure has risen /considerably over the western Tasman Sea, and the rain area should extend ■gradually northwards before a ,southerly change occurs. The forecast is for -strong northerly winds to gales, with snuallv and unsettled conditions and with rain, including some heavy falls, (seas will he rough.
