OTAKEHO
PIONEER SETTLER PASSES. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Yesterday at Otakeho there passed away' one of the pioneer residents, Mrs Elizabeth Rogers, wife of Mr Louis Rogers. She had been in failing health for some time. Mrs Rogers was the eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs J. S. Young who settled in the early days of the plains anti built the homestead, known so well as “Riverside,” which was destroyed by fire about a year ago. Mrs Rogers and 'her hfisbnnd and family were held in the hi.gflest regard by people all over South Taranaki. She is survived by her husband, one daughter (Constance), now Mrs Doig. and one son (John), who lives at the old homestead. Mr Ernest Young, of Otakeho, is a brother. The news of Mrs Rogers’ death was learnt with much sorrow by her many old friends for .she had a personality which endeared her to all who knew her.
