DAIRY FACTORY WORKERS
WAGE CUTS DISCUSSED EMPLOYERS TAKE NO ACTION. The wages of dairy factory employees were discussed at a meeting of the Taranaki Dairy Factory Employers’ Association held a.t- Eltham yesterday. A motion for a 10 per cent, reduction in- wages- and an amendment that the reduction should -be 5 per cent, were debated. After discussion it was agreed; that no reduction be made in view ctf the fact that the rise in the exchange rate was expected to give farmers some immediate financial relief. The executive was authorised to call the association together for the purpose of .reviewing ihc situation before the opening of the next dairy season.
