(From Our Own Correspondent.) GENERAL AND PERSONAL. On Sunday a party of Auroa tennis enthusiasts journeyed to Hawera to play a friendly match with St. Joseph’s team there, but on receipt of the news' of the aeroplane tragedy the, match was discontinued. On Saturday the Auroa Bowling Club defeated the Warea Club at Warea, and on Sunday were again victorious at Opunake, winning by 35 to 15. Mr Guy Putt, who was killed in the aeroplane smash at Pihama on Sunday, ail'd .Mr Brian Davies, who was injured, wore well- known in the Auroa district, where they had played hockey and tenuis, and wen; held in (lie highest esteem. Mr S. Miller, Oco Road, lias undergone an operation in the Hawera hospital and is progressing favourably. Mr Frank Greenibanks is an inmate of Hawera hospital. Miss Vera King has returned homo from from a holiday at Opunake beach. On Monday the annual Sunday school picnic was held at Otakeho beach.
