Following are the latest quotations for frozen meat, with previously cabled prices in parenthesis: Australian sheep.—First quality crossbred or Merino wethers, 40 to 651 b 3 3-8 d (3 Id); ewes, 30 to 351 b, (3 3-Sd). Argentine sheep,—F|irst quality crossbred wethers, 48 to 641 b, (4.id); 6;j to 721 b, 4 l-8d (4*d). New Zealand lamb;:.—-Canterbury, second quality, average about 301 b, 4 7-8 d (5Jd). Selected North Island, including downs, 37 to 421 b, 74-d- (7-J,i. Other North Island, first quality, -36ib and under, 7tl (7id); 37 to 421 b, 6jd C 7 id). Second quulitv, average about 301 b, 6 l-8d (6£d). Australian lambs.—Victorian, first quality, 361 b and under, 5 7-8 d (6d); 37 to 421 b, 4 7-8 d (sd). Other States, second quality, 361 b and under, 4;Jd (od). All States, third quality, average about 231 b; od (ojd). Argentine lambs. —First quality, 37 to 421 b, 5d (5 l-8d); second quality, average' about 281 b, 5 l-8d (old).

The above list shows the week’s approximate average prices based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the description of meat mentioned. The prices are for representative parcels of goods offering during the week. The list, being for business done on a basis of delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London •stores, has been compiled by the price committee.

LONDON WOOL SALES. LONDON, Jan. 27. At the wool sales 1 6663 'bales were offered, including 2010 New Zealand, and 4810 were sold. There was keen general competition. Prices were fully firm, especially for finer qualities. .There were some withdrawals owing to the high limits. New Zealand greasy crossbred, Whangara, top IOJd, average 8-3 d.

WHEAT AT LONDON. LONDON, Jan. 28. Wheat cargoes are quiet, mostly I\d to 3d down on Chicago rates, which to-day are reported to be: May 473 cents’, July 471- cents, September 483 cents. Bueno’s Aires reports are similar. Further sales of Australian wheat to the Far East are reported. Parcels are neglected, with Australians unchanged. Quotations for futures are: London. February-April. 20s 3.1 d ; Liverpool. March 4s BJd, May 4s 9d. July 4s- 101 d.
